Gonda: A grand rangoli programme was organised at Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Inter College, popularly known as Thomson College, in Gonda as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The event aimed to spread awareness about various government schemes and the campaign’s public welfare messages through art and creative expression.
Women members of self-help groups associated with the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), students and teachers from the Basic and Secondary Education departments, and representatives of the Horticulture Department participated enthusiastically.
Participants created colourful and message-oriented rangolis depicting government welfare schemes, social concerns and the spirit of public service. Rangolis representing Bharat Mandal, the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan and various departmental initiatives were displayed across the college premises, adding to its visual appeal.
District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan, along with the BJP district president and other public representatives, visited the venue and viewed the rangoli displays. They interacted with participants and appreciated the creative efforts of students, teachers and self-help group members.
The programme highlighted coordination among government departments, educational institutions, self-help groups and public representatives. Through their artwork, students and women from self-help groups presented social messages and information about welfare initiatives in an accessible and engaging manner.
District Development Officer Aditya Tiwari, DC-NRLM J.N. Rao, District Inspector of Schools Dr Ram Chandra, District Basic Education Officer Amit Singh, BJP district president Akbal Bahadur Tiwari, general secretary Rakesh Tiwari and officials, employees and representatives from various departments were present at the event.
